About Alyssa:
I graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelors Degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a certificate in Conflict Resolution. I have been working with BGC since 2017. I started as a Part-time Program Leader and was promoted to a Site Coordinator and then again to a traveling Site Coordinator. After 2 years I applied for full-time position as a Unit Director for K-5th and then again for Director of Clubhouse Services for K-12th at the 5th Street location which is what I am currently serving as today.

What makes BGC special?
We get to engage and support our community by being leaders, teachers, and mentors and be a place that many of our kids call home by building connections through cultivating unity while celebrating their individuality.

What do you like to do when not at work?
When I am not at work I spend my time reading, making memories with family and friends, stargazing and just living live to the fullest.

What's your "Superpower"?
My superpower is my ability to read people and relate to them to see how I can best help them

What's your favorite BGC Kid quote?
"Our love knows no distance" - 5th grader whose girlfriend was moving far away

What do you hope our members take away from you?
I hope my members take away from me the true unconditional love I have for them. That they will one day walk into spaces and leave them better then they found them. They are dreamers, game-changers, world-shakers and that their voice can reach as far as they can dream. That they are important and cared for on this earth and can make changes no matter how small and no matter what happens this BGC will always be their home and the door is always open.
