What makes BGC special?

1. What makes BGC special is how inclusive clubs are committed to being. From the National level, inside organizations, and at individual club sites, processes and programs are thoughtfully crafted and implemented to meet the varying needs of youth and families they serve. Those processes and programs are continually assessed for adjustment as those needs change. The constant is the mission and the pursuit to deliver it equitably and passionately.

What do you do when you are not at BGC?

2. When I am not at work I am usually out for a fairly slow run, reading a book, or trying out a new recipe; and usually with one of my dogs by my side (especially while cooking). Since I am new to Kansas and the Mid-West, I am working my way through a Kansas travel book finding and trying all the best tourist activities, tasty treats, and hidden gems of the Sunflower State.

What is your superpower?

3. My superpower is organizing. People, events, supplies. I love when things come together, find a place to belong, and harmonize into a big picture.

What's your favorite BGC Kid quote?

4. In my previous experience in the Movement, I worked with a YOY candidate who once told me, "I always want to be who I am, but I am not who I always want to be." This motto was his promise to himself to be authentic while recognizing his want and need for personal growth and development over time. He was ready to develop a unique personal brand from all his future experiences, dreams, and obstacles that remained true to his heart, always. He has inspired me to do the same!

What do you hope our members take away from?

5. I hope that our members feel seen, respected, and appreciated by me in all of my interactions with them and their families. I hope that the consistency and authenticity of those interactions inspires a true sense of self; self awareness, self respect, and self love that carries them through a lifetime with such abundance that they are able to share it freely with family and community.
