What makes BGC special?

BGC is a place where all children, youth, and teens are accepted unquestionably. It is a place for them to explore their futures, be bold and daring, and experience the world around them in a safe and comfortable environment. What makes BGC special is our ability to uplift our community's youth, inspire them, and see the great futures they achieve.

What do you like to do when not at work?

I read. I read so much. When I'm not at work, I am at the library, a bookstore, or in my reading nook, losing myself in a fantasy novel or some ancient mythology. My favorite authors range from Walt Whitman and Jane Austen to Leslie Marmon Silko and Neil Gaiman. If you see me out and about, feel free to give me your recommendations--I read every one!

What's your favorite BGC Kid quote?

In response to getting picked up to go home: "I want to stay at Boys & Girls Club forever!"

What do you hope our members take away from you?

My hope is that each kiddo we serve learns to believe in themselves, and knows never to stop being themselves. Express yourself as you want. Make your life as colorful and fun as you can!
